I had to recover from my weekend sickness, so I couldn’t play in the vital, deciding match against Gosnells.

However, it turned out it was pouring with rain, so after Monday Pre-voc, I was quite glad to get home. The wind and rain lashed furiously at my bedroom window, as I wondered how we were going.

The following morning at school, I received the news, from Roy. Gosnells had defeated us in the rain 8.5 to 4.12, to end our chances in the CIG competition. He said it was bad kicking that cost us the game.

Gosnells were the winners of the East Fremantle zone, after defeating us, and would go on to play South Fremantle’s champion school, Hamilton Hill, in the quarter-finals.
